First book edited by the Chiara Lubich Center

Chiara simply

libro_chiara-semplicementeBy T. Klann, M. Pochet and M. Vandeleene, was released by the Città Nuova Publishing House. A book of photos that recounts the 88-year life of the foundress of the Focolare Movement: it is the first work edited by the Chiara Lubich Center.

In addition, it contains largely unpublished photos which show Chiara as very human and approachable, without the diaphragm of microphones, cameras and stages. First anniversary of Chiara Lubich’s departure for heaven

First anniversary of Chiara Lubich’s departure for heaven
It will be commemorated through different initiatives worldwide.

In Rome a Mass will be celebrated in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, presided by Card. Paul Poupard, at 11.00.

In the afternoon, at the Mariapolis Centre of Castelgandolfo, a cultural and artistic program will be held entitled: "With Chiara," recalling unpublished moments of her life, from her first to her last days.

Among the witnesses will be: Sergio Zavoli and, in video, Card. Stanislaw Dziwis, Emmaus Voce, current president of the Focolare Movement, a few of Chiara’s first companions and other leading personalities who had the chance to know her.

On this website we will transmit the live program via internet, in Italian and English, starting from 16.00 local time.

The patrimony that she left us in the arch of 88 years is invaluable. It is now our task to collect , order and catalogue it, in order to share it with future generations, scholars and everyone.

This is why the idea of a Center in her name was born.  In July 2008, the General Assembly of the Focolare Movement approved the project and entrusted it to Eli Folonari.
