In the context of the celebrations for the centenary of the birth of Chiara Lubich (22 January 1920 – 22 January 2020), a special event will take place in her hometown on Saturday 25 January, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.

“Trent meets Chiara” is the title of the event which will take place at the Mariapolis Centre in Cadine (Trent). The program includes an artistic presentation which will narrate the most significant moments of Chiara’s life through images and music intertwined with the voices of civil and ecclesial authorities, Focolare President Maria Voce as well as testimonies which have arrived from around the world by people who have been, and still are, inspired by Chiara and her charism and by her personal and social achievements: Lawrence Chong from Singapore, Stanislaw Lencz from Slovakia, both entrepreneurs; Amy Uelman, lawyer and university professor in the United States; Cardinal João Braz de Aviz, Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life; Doctors Arthur Ngoy and Florance Mwanabute from the Democratic Republic of the Congo; Alberto Pacher, ex-mayor of Trent; and many others.

The event on 25 January will start at 4.00pm and will conclude at 5.30pm. Entrance to the Marilen Hall at the Mariapolis Centre is by invitation only for organizational and security reasons.

It will be possible to follow the event via video link in the Athenagoras Hall, also at the Mariapolis Center, and in the Depero Hall at the Palazzo della Provincia, by booking through the website www.centenariolubichtrento.it as from 13 January.

The entire program will also be streamed live on the website www.centenariolubichtrento.it and www.focolare.org.
